"for last year's words belong to last year's language and next year's words await another voice" - t.s. eliot
ah, the beginning of another year, like a deep cleansing breath, it is an opportunity for renewal, reflection, and positive change. the young new year always feels fresh, light and optimistic. to that idea, i will start the year out with spaces that are lovely and light.
happy first weekend of 2015.

impossible to believe it is time to celebrate the winter solstice this weekend, that an entire year has passed since last year's solstice post. wishing you warmth and light and a lovely winter holiday.

tacking onto last friday's post since my living room wall remains blank: while it would be fabulous to amass an art collection or create a mural for that space, a simpler, quicker sort of project with items i may already have is a very appealing option to explore. wishing you a very happy weekend.

one file on my pinterest page is titled 'for that blank wall'. i have been preoccupied with design options for a newly created blank wall in our living room after moving out some furniture. mural, painting or photo enlargement? so difficult to choose. wishing you a decidedly happy weekend.

i recently attended a paper garland workshop which was such a fun way to kick off the start of the holiday season. string lights, banners, bunting and the like always make me smile and while they are usually reserved for holidays and celebrations, the endless possibilities of using fabric, paper, botanicals, lights, etc makes it easy to include a little festive whimsy in your every day. a very happy weekend to you and yours.
