we've been experiencing spring for most of this year, and wishing for more rain. right now i'm focused on dirt. dirt is the foundation to planting. we've been anxiously anticipating what grows out of it, preoccupied with the idea of spring planting outside and spring-cleaning inside the home. i am always dreaming of and searching for that certain mix inside and outside the home. below right is a loosely composed arrangement of miscellaneous handmade bits that will become part of a necklace, wreath, cardholder or other accessory.

the artwork and the spaces seem rustic, yet inviting, intriguing and refreshing which inspires me to keep sprucing up our home and garden with details that intrigue and refresh making the spaces more inviting. more wreaths and necklaces in the works - see image below. sometimes i get stuck on one piece for too long, then move to a different object to work on and then another...

certain botanical accents are irresistible to me and then surrounded by some type of contained structure and support is an enchanting visual delight. partly overcome with a yearning for objects with a new old fashioned sensibility that emphasize my affection for botanicals and inflicted with a bit of cabin fever, the everlasting botanical wreath is done, shown below and in the shop kuwatani.
